US-based Radial Entertainment is strengthening its catalogue through a new acquisition focused on crime, investigation and paranormal programming.
The deal will add more than 600 hours of programming across true crime, investigative and paranormal genres to Radial Entertainment’s library.
Founded in Virginia in 1989, New Dominion Pictures is known for producing and distributing nonfiction programming spanning true crime, military, medical, paranormal, history and reality formats. The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
The agreement includes well-known franchises such as The FBI Files and The Detectives. Radial had previously managed and distributed these titles on free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) platforms in the United States.
With the acquisition, Radial will gain full ownership of the underlying intellectual property, along with worldwide distribution rights in perpetuity. This will allow the company not only to continue distributing the existing catalogue but also to explore the production of new episodes and potential revivals of the established franchises.
The catalogue also features the paranormal anthology series A Haunting as well as unscripted titles such as the automotive show FantomWorks.
Radial Entertainment CEO Jeff Shultz said that owning intellectual property forms the foundation of a long-term content strategy, emphasizing that controlling both the assets and their global distribution enables the company to maximise their value over time.
