BBC Scotland and BBC Factual have commissioned two new true crime installments of the documentary series Murder Trial.
Both productions will be made by Glasgow-based Firecrest Films, which is owned by Channel 4.
The first documentary, Death of a Dog Walker (working title, 2×60′), explores the murder of Brian Low, who was killed while walking his dog in Highland Perthshire in February 2024.
The second, Murder Trial: Culpable Homicide (working title, 2×60′), examines the death of Kimberly Bruce, who fell from a motorway bridge in Dundee. Her husband is standing trial on charges of culpable homicide and domestic abuse in what is the first prosecution of its kind in Scotland.
Both documentaries will air on BBC Scotland and BBC Two and will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Firecrest Films is also producing a 10-part companion podcast, Inside the Murder Trial, which has been co-commissioned by BBC Scotland and BBC Sounds.
