The mysterious 1926 disappearance of Agatha Christie, the Queen of Crime, which once dominated headlines worldwide, is being adapted for the big screen.

Titled Eleven Missing Days, this noir mystery-thriller brings together two-time Oscar nominee Felicity Jones and César winner Vincent Cassel for a high-stakes cinematic investigation.

The film explores the true story of December 1926, when Agatha Christie vanished from her home for eleven days under bizarre circumstances, sparking a “whodunnit” investigation that strangely mirrored one of her own novels.

Felicity Jones will portray the legendary author, while Vincent Cassel is set to play a retired Belgian detective drawn into the case, an intentional nod to Christie’s most famous creation, Hercule Poirot. Directed by Bertie Ellwood and based on Jared Cade’s scholarly book Agatha Christie and the Eleven Missing Days, the production features a screenplay by Ernesto Foronda and includes co-stars Nicole Elizabeth Berger and Oliver Trevena.

The project, which has been in development for a decade, is being introduced to buyers at this week’s Cannes Market by Fortitude International, with Range Media Partners handling U.S. rights. Highlighting a fascinating moment in literary history that saw fellow writers like Arthur Conan Doyle join the search, the film is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to begin shooting in the UK this summer.
