Dakota Fanning will star in a new thriller developed for Apple TV+.
Fanning will portray an undercover agent working for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Created by Homeland’s Emmy-winning creator Alex Cary, the series follows Fanning’s character as a mole infiltrating a multinational, multibillion-dollar conglomerate.
As the mission progresses, her character begins to believe that her primary target may actually be a good person and falls in love with him, complicating her assignment.
The series is produced under Cary’s overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. Julie Gardner is among the producers. While Dakota Fanning, her sister Elle Fanning, and Brittany Kahan Ward serve as executive producers.
The Handmaid’s Tale director Kari Skogland will direct the series and also serve as an executive producer.
The project is currently untitled and does not yet have a release date.
