TOD is set to launch Alıkara, a new psychological drama starring Miray Daner and Halit Özgür Sarı, on September 10. Produced by Karga7 Pictures under the TOD STUDIOS banner, the series is directed by Hülya Gezer and written by Eylem Canpolat and Bengü Üçüncü.
Blending mystery, emotional drama and psychological tension, Alıkara follows two people whose lives become connected through separate losses and an investigation that gradually forces them to confront their own pasts.
What Is Alıkara About?
The story brings together forensic psychologist Işık And and homicide chief Deniz Baran Dağ, two characters who approach the same mystery from very different perspectives.
Işık, played by Miray Daner, grew up in Istanbul and has learned to rely on reason to navigate life. Deniz, portrayed by Halit Özgür Sarı, is a homicide chief shaped by the losses he experienced as a child.
Their connection begins with two unresolved tragedies. Işık’s father disappears from her life without explanation, while Deniz’s beloved niece Neşe dies, leaving behind questions that have never been answered. Although they have never met, the two are ultimately drawn together by the grief surrounding these events.
As Işık searches for clues in the human mind and Deniz follows the evidence left behind by crimes, their investigation takes them beyond the case itself. The closer they get to the truth, the more they are forced to confront the darker parts of their own histories.
Who Stars in Alıkara?
Alongside Miray Daner and Halit Özgür Sarı, the cast features Sezin Akbaşoğulları, Fatih Al, Can Atak, Bahadır Vatanoğlu, Burak Güneş, Yaprak Medine, Yiğit Batumlu, Esra Ünnü, Elif Gülhan, Jasmine Berkiş, Gökhan Soylu and Serpil Gül.
The series also builds its drama around the tension between reason and intuition, tradition and modernity, and faith and science. At the heart of the story is the developing relationship between Işık and Deniz, who gradually become sources of change and support for one another without trying to reshape each other.
When Does Alıkara Premiere on TOD?
Alıkara premieres on TOD on September 10 and will release new episodes every Thursday. Character posters for the series have also been unveiled ahead of its debut.
