Disney+ is developing a drama series adaptation of Stuart Gibbs’ bestselling Spy School book franchise.
The project is being written by Chuck co-creator Chris Fedak and is produced by Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, producer Emma Watts, and 20th Television.
The series follows Ben Ripley, a teenager whose lifelong dream is to join the CIA. After being recruited to what he believes is a prestigious science magnet school, Ben discovers that the institution is actually a secret CIA training academy, launching him into a world of espionage, danger, and adventure.
Fedak will also executive produce the series alongside Emma Watts, Maximum Effort, and Stuart Gibbs. Gibbs’ Spy School novels have sold more than 12 million copies worldwide, making them one of the most successful middle-grade book franchises in recent years.
The Spy School series is currently in development at Disney+.
