UKTV has announced a brand-new true crime documentary titled The Search for Leah Croucher: A Parent’s Nightmare, a two-part special (75 minutes each) exploring the tragic story of 19-year-old Leah Croucher, whose mysterious disappearance in 2019 gripped the entire nation.

Produced by Impossible Factual, Leah Croucher: A Parent’s Nightmare is scheduled to air in 2026 on the free streaming service U and the U&W channel, with international distribution handled by ITV Studios.

Told through the eyes of her parents, the documentary covers one of Britain’s most high-profile missing person cases, tracing the timeline from Leah’s sudden vanishing to the devastating discovery of her body more than three years later.

The film also highlights the profound grief of a family who suffered a double tragedy, having also lost Leah’s brother, Haydon, during the agonizing years of searching. Over the past four years, the filmmakers have built a deep bond of trust with the family, securing exclusive, deeply personal access to her parents and sister to share their story for the very first time.

Beyond honoring Leah’s memory, this poignant documentary aims to spark vital public conversations and shed light on the family’s ongoing campaign to reform British legislation, ensuring that other families are spared from experiencing such unimaginable heartbreak in the future.
