Federation International, the global distribution arm of Federation Studios, has officially secured the worldwide rights to The Shift (originally titled Uniformes), a gripping 6×45-minute police drama produced for Swiss broadcaster RTS.
The acquisition comes on the heels of a historic broadcast run on RTS1. Airing from late April to May 2026, the series captured the public’s imagination to become the third most-watched original production in RTS history, trailing only behind network hits Banking District and Winter Palace. Following its massive linear success, the complete series has now moved to the network’s digital platform, Play-RTS.
Co-created by Chloé Devicq and director Romain Graf, the acclaimed filmmaker behind Station Horizon and the La Rochelle-winning Helvetica, The Shift moves past standard procedural tropes to deliver a deeply emotional and tense character study.
The Shift kicks off when a routine intervention goes horribly wrong, leaving a police officer critically wounded by a violent suspect. As Internal Affairs steps in to audit the incident, the close-knit unit is forced to account for every split-second decision made that night. The ensuing interrogation room pressure cooker explores the heavy toll of routine, exhaustion, collective guilt, and the fragile psychological boundaries of the people behind the badge.
Filmed entirely on location in Geneva, The Shift boasts an impressive European ensemble cast. The lineup includes dual Cesar Award nominee Kacey Mottet Klein, Thibaut Evrard (No Man’s Land), Best Actress winner Anna Pieri Zuercher (Double Vie), and Luàna Bajrami (Portrait of a Lady on Fire). They are joined by Younès Boucif, Léonie Simaga, Jérémy Lewin, Zineb Triki, and veteran actor Frédéric Pierrot (In Treatment). The project is produced by Alva Film in co-production with RTS, Hélicotronc, and Ikonë Studio.
The high-profile pickup lands during a remarkably busy sales window for Federation International. The distributor is currently finalizing major global deals for Oscar-winner Jean-Xavier de Lestrade’s Bataclan terrorist attack survivor mini-series Those Who Lived, while wrapping up European territory sales for the Glasgow Audience Award winner A Place for Her. Additionally, the company is preparing for the highly anticipated June 21, 2026, premiere of The Agency Season 2 on Paramount+.
