TOD STUDIOS’ highly anticipated new crime-drama Alıkara, which centers on mystery, trauma, and criminal investigation, has officially kicked off production with its first table read.
Bringing together a brilliant cast and creative team, the series follows a forensic psychologist shattered by her father’s sudden disappearance, and a homicide captain chasing the truth behind his niece’s suspicious death. Bound by a shared tragedy, this gripping procedural is already poised to be the season’s most ambitious crime story.
Starring Miray Daner and Halit Özgür Sarı in the lead roles, the series is produced by Karga7 Pictures. Hülya Gezer sits in the director’s chair, while the screenplay is penned by the successful duo Eylem Canpolat and Bengü Üçüncü.
The intense atmosphere and seamless chemistry among the cast and crew were highly palpable during the table read. The raw energy displayed at this first gathering signals that Alıkara will easily become one of the standout productions of the season.
Accompanying Miray Daner and Halit Özgür Sarı in this gripping narrative is a powerful ensemble cast including Sezin Akbaşoğulları, Fatih Al, Gökhan Soylu, Can Atak, Bahadır Vatanoğlu, Burak Güneş, Yaprak Medine, Yiğit Batumlu, Esra Ünnü, Elif Gülhan, Jasmine Berkiş, and Serpil Gül.

A Collision of Intellect and Intuition: Alıkara
Alıkara tells the story of two polar opposite individuals whose lives intersect around the very same grief. On one side is Işık And, a young woman raised in Istanbul who has learned to survive by relying solely on her intellect. On the other side is Deniz Baran Dağ, a homicide detective carrying the heavy burden of devastating childhood losses on his shoulders.
When Işık’s father suddenly vanishes without a trace, and Deniz’s beloved niece, Neşe, dies leaving behind a web of unanswered questions, their fates are sealed within the same tragedy—long before they even know each other.
A forensic psychologist and a homicide detective… One tracks the anomalies of the human soul, while the other investigates the physical evidence left behind at crime scenes. As they both chase the exact same truth, their paths inevitably cross. However, the answers they seek won’t come easy. With every step closer to solving the mystery, they drift deeper into the dark corridors of their own pasts.
Alıkara explores a profound connection born at the crossroads of East and West, tradition and modernity, intuition and logic, faith and science. It is the story of two broken people who heal each other without trying to change who they are.
Exploring both the depravity and the ultimate hope of the human spirit, Alıkara masterfully blends mystery, suspense, and romance in a single narrative. Combining psychological depth with gritty tension, Alıkara is coming soon to TOD.
