Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for its highly anticipated new limited series Lucky, starring Anya Taylor-Joy.
The project is created and executive produced by Jonathan Tropper alongside executive producer Reese Witherspoon. Based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling book, the series follows con artist Lucky (Taylor-Joy), whose life is turned upside down when a multi-million-dollar heist goes sideways. Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky is forced to go on the run as she fights for her life and a way out.
The A-list ensemble cast features world-renowned names including Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins, Jr., and William Fichtner. The trailer reveals that Olyphant portrays Lucky’s father, who raised her in a life of crime, while Bening stars as Priscilla, her fierce crime boss mother-in-law who is leading the hunt against her.
Hailing from Apple Studios, the series is co-showrun and written by Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas. Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter serve as executive producers for Hello Sunshine, while Taylor-Joy also executive produces through her Ladykiller production banner. Jonathan Van Tulleken is on board to direct several episodes, including the pilot, and will also serve as an executive producer.
Lucky is scheduled to make its global premiere on Apple TV with its first two episodes on Wednesday, July 15, with subsequent new episodes rolling out every Wednesday through August 19.
