NBC has finalized an ambitious slate for its 2026/27 season by officially greenlighting four out of eight pilot projects, ranging from modern reimagining of classics to star-studded comedies.

Highlighting the new schedule is the return of the 1970s detective phenomenon The Rockford Files, featuring David Boreanaz in the lead role alongside Michaela McManus and Jacki Weaver.

Joining the drama lineup is Line of Fire, a high-stakes series centered on a family of law enforcement agents across the FBI, Secret Service, and Department of Justice, starring veteran actors Peter Krause and Hope Davis.

The network is also leaning into comedy with Newlyweds, a late-in-life love story starring Téa Leoni and Tim Daly that follows the impulsive marriage of a free-spirited woman and a rigid professor, with Jamie Lee Curtis serving as an executive producer. Additionally, the single-camera comedy Sunset PI, starring Jake Johnson and Jane Levy, aims to continue Los Angeles’ iconic private eye tradition.

NBC Entertainment Chairman Pearlena Igbokwe noted that these selections, all produced by Universal Television, reflect the network’s strategic ambition to take big swings with projects capable of truly breaking through in the current television landscape.
