BBC announced that the crime drama This City Is Ours has been renewed for a second season.
The show features Sean Bean, James Nelson-Joyce (Black Mirror), and Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls), and is also named as BBC iPlayer’s biggest new drama launch of the year so far.

The series follows the love affair between Michael (Nelson-Joyce) and Diana (Hannah Onslow), set against the disintegration of Michael’s crime gang. After The Crown was finished, This City Is Ours became the biggest hit by Left Bank. According to the BBC, the series had gathered more than 6.6 million viewers per episode. The final episode has already reached 3 million on iPlayer by Friday afternoon.
Creator and writer Butchard commented: “We have all been blown away by the incredibly positive response to This City is Ours. I can’t thank the audience enough for their time and emotional investment.”
