Christopher Landon is set to write and direct Paramount Pictures’ adaptation of Grady Hendrix’s bestselling novel The Final Girl Support Group, a thriller that blends psychological horror with crime and mystery.
The Final Girl Support Group centers on six women whose survival of unrelated mass murders turned them into real-life “final girls” and reluctant public figures. Years later, they meet regularly in a Los Angeles support group, believing the worst is behind them—until members of the group begin to face a new and unsettling danger.
As fear spreads among the survivors, old crimes resurface and long-buried trauma collides with a fresh investigation, forcing the women to determine whether someone is targeting them or whether the past has never truly been left behind.
Originally planned as an HBO Max series, the project has now been reimagined as a feature film at Paramount. Andy and Barbara Muschietti remain attached as producers through Double Dream, while Grady Hendrix will executive produce alongside Adam Goldworm and Aperture Entertainment.
Best known for Happy Death Day, Freaky and the Paranormal Activity franchise, Landon brings another crime-infused horror story to the screen with the adaptation.
