Hulu and Disney+ have officially renewed The Artful Dodger for a third and final season, bringing the acclaimed continuation of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist closer to its conclusion.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster is set to reprise his role as Jack Dawkins, alongside returning cast members David Thewlis as Fagin and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox.
Production on the farewell season is scheduled to begin in Sydney in the coming months. Set in 1850s Australia, the series follows the former Artful Dodger 15 years after the events of Oliver Twist, reimagining the iconic character in a new chapter of his life.
According to Disney, The Artful Dodger has become the streamer’s most-watched Australian original to date. The final season will once again be produced by Curio Pictures, with Andrew Knight leading the writing team and Ben Young and Ben C. Lucas returning to direct.
The first two seasons of the series are currently available to stream on Disney+ internationally and on Hulu in the United States.
