The first details for Bookish Season 2 have been revealed.
Series creator, writer, and star Mark Gatiss said the new season will further explore the “lavender marriage” between Gabriel and Trottie, explaining that while the arrangement works for both characters, it will face increasing dangers as the story unfolds.
According to Gatiss, the second season will expand its scope, with the fifth and sixth episodes taking the story to Germany. He also teased that several long-running mysteries will finally be resolved, with some of the show’s biggest questions receiving answers.
Gatiss added that Bookish goes beyond the traditional murder mystery format, using its detective stories to explore a wider range of themes.
The new season will feature guest appearances from Jason Watkins, Miranda Richardson, Ruth Codd, Rupert Graves, Claire Skinner, and Ingrid Oliver.
Bookish Season 2 is set to premiere on U&Alibi this August, while Season 1 is currently available to stream on Sky/NOW.
