Rabbit Films has acquired the international distribution rights to Healer (Parantaja), a six-part Finnish psychological thriller produced by Fire Monkey for Elisa Viihde.
The company will represent the series internationally as both a finished title and a scripted format, with rights available outside Finland and Estonia.
What is the Finnish Series Healer About?
Healer follows Emma, a respected surgeon whose career collapses after a fatal medical error. As she faces public scrutiny and threats following the incidents, she moves with her family to Suomenlinna, a fortress island off the coast of Helsinki, hoping to rebuild her life.
There, Emma meets Roosa, a charismatic wellness guru who leads a yoga collective and offers an alternative to the scientific world Emma once trusted. Emma gradually becomes drawn into the community and begins to believe that she can heal people through touch.
The series combines medical drama with psychological thriller elements while exploring alternative wellness, belief and the influence of charismatic leaders. As Emma becomes more involved with Roosa and her community, the boundaries between healing, manipulation and control become increasingly difficult to distinguish.
