Following its record-breaking debut as the BBC’s top scripted title of 2024, the hit detective comedy-drama Ludwig is officially returning for a second season, with the first look images now heightening anticipation.
The inaugural series solidified its position as a major success, drawing over 9.5 million viewers within its first month and marking the most successful comedy launch for the broadcaster in over six years. The upcoming episodes will see the return of stars David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell Martin, while also introducing Mark Bonnar and Sian Clifford to the regular cast.
In this new six-part chapter, master puzzle-setter John ‘Ludwig’ Taylor has moved beyond simply impersonating his twin brother and has officially been appointed as a Crime Scene Consultant for the Cambridge Police Authority. Working alongside DCI Russell Carter, Ludwig will tackle a fresh string of seemingly “impossible” mysteries that put his intellectual brilliance to the test.
The narrative continues to explore the sharp contrast between his genius for puzzles and his struggle to navigate the complexities of everyday life. Produced by Big Talk Studios and That Mitchell and Webb Company, the series will be distributed internationally by ITV Studios.
