BBC has set a premiere date for its new crime drama Mint.

The series centers on Shannon, the daughter of a crime family, whose life takes a dramatic turn when she falls in love with a member of a rival clan, sparking a forbidden romance that unfolds against a volatile criminal backdrop.

The show stars Emma Laird and Ben Coyle-Larner (also known as Loyle Carner), alongside Sam Riley, Laura Fraser, Lewis Gribben and Lindsay Duncan. Blending the intensity of first love with the darker dynamics of the criminal underworld, the story explores shifting power structures within the family as tensions rise and loyalties begin to fracture.

Created by Charlotte Regan, Mint is positioned as a distinctive take on the crime genre, placing female perspectives at its core while delving into themes of love, obsession, tragedy and darkness. The first two episodes will air on April 20 on BBC One, with the full series becoming available the same day on BBC iPlayer.
