Netflix and AMC Studios are joining forces on Bannerman, a new drama series based on John R. Maxim’s five-book spy novel series.
The story centers on Paul Bannerman, a highly skilled former covert operative who has traded espionage for a quiet life in suburban Connecticut. His attempt at retirement quickly falls apart as old enemies, a suspicious government and a former NYPD officer determined to uncover his true identity pull him back into the dangerous world he left behind.
Craig Silverstein will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer, while Shane Black will co-write the premiere and direct the first two episodes. Greg Nicotero and Brian Witten are also attached as executive producers. The series marks the first co-production between Netflix and AMC Studios. It will debut on AMC in the US and Canada before arriving on Netflix 90 days after the season finale, while Netflix will handle exclusive distribution in most other territories.
