DCD Rights is putting true crime in focus at MIPCOM 2026 with two titles exploring murder cases through forensic evidence, police investigations and the stories of those closest to the victims.

From forensic autopsies to seaside murders

The Truth About My Murder (6×60’), produced by Yeti for BBC Wales and BBC iPlayer, follows forensic pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd as he examines murder cases from Wales. Using a digital autopsy table, Shepherd explores the physical evidence left by fatal attacks while working alongside investigators and hearing from victims’ families.

The series uses virtual autopsy technology to examine trauma and uncover details that can help distinguish evidence from the stories constructed around a crime.

Also on DCD Rights’ MIPCOM slate is Murder by the Sea: Series 3-10 (76×60’), produced by Monster Films for CBS Reality/True Crime. The series revisits murder cases from British coastal towns, examining the investigations and the circumstances surrounding crimes that took place far from the postcard image of seaside Britain.

Crime historian Dr Nell Darby and author Geoffrey Wansell host the series, drawing on the accounts of investigators who worked on the cases and helped bring those responsible to justice.
