Netflix has released the first trailer for Gentle Monster, the new psychological drama from Corsage director Marie Kreutzer.

Starring Léa Seydoux alongside Laurence Rupp, Jella Haase and Catherine Deneuve, the film turns an apparently peaceful family life into a story of suspicion, fear and betrayal.

Seydoux plays Lucy, a concert pianist who has recently moved with her husband Philip and their son to a country house. The change is meant to offer the family a fresh start as Philip struggles with severe burnout but their quiet new life is shattered when the police arrive at their home early one morning and take Philip into custody.

Suddenly faced with disturbing questions about the man she thought she knew, Lucy finds herself caught between her feelings for her husband and the possibility that he may have been hiding something unimaginable. As the investigation unfolds, the stability of their marriage begins to collapse, forcing Lucy to reconsider both her relationship and the life they have built together.

Written and directed by Marie Kreutzer, Gentle Monster premiered in competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. The cast also brings together two generations of French cinema, with Catherine Deneuve joining Seydoux alongside Laurence Rupp and Jella Haase.

Gentle Monster will open in select theaters on October 30 before arriving on Netflix on November 18.
