The documentary Who Killed Alex Odeh?, which won the US Documentary Special Jury Award for Journalistic Excellence at the Sundance Film Festival, has been acquired by Watermelon Pictures for North American distribution.

Directed and produced by Jason Osder and William Lafi Youmans, Who Killed Alex Odeh? examines the killing of Palestinian American teacher and activist Alex Odeh in a bombing attack. As the investigation unfolds, the documentary shifts its focus to alleged extremist groups connected to the attack and the failures within the justice system.

Using archival footage, eyewitness testimony, and investigative journalism, it explores the broader historical and political impact of the case.

Following Sundance, the film had its international premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and was also screened at DC/DOX. It has secured distribution deals across multiple territories, including Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, and Spain.

The filmmakers say their aim is to spark discussions around accountability, memory, and justice.

Watermelon Pictures plans to release the film theatrically later this year.
