ABC has entered development on a television adaptation of Isabella Maldonado’s crime novel A Forgotten Kill.

The project is being developed by ABC, the U.S. broadcast network owned by Disney.

The creative team includes Diana Son as writer and showrunner, while Ken Olin is attached as director and executive producer. Justin Hartley, through his production company Change Up Productions, is also on board as an executive producer. Maldonado herself is likewise serving as an executive producer on the adaptation.

A Forgotten Kill centers on an FBI codebreaker whose life is defined by a traumatic past: years earlier, her testimony led to her mother being convicted of murdering her father. A decade later, she is pulled back into the case when she teams up with an NYPD detective to track a serial killer who challenges investigators with riddles and psychological games.

As the investigation deepens, she begins uncovering unsettling truths that force her to question everything she thought she knew about her past and her family.

The series is currently in development, with no broadcaster or release timeline confirmed yet.
