Netflix’s new political thriller An Innocent Girl places Kerry Washington at the center of a seductive and dangerous world where nothing and no one is what they seem.
The film will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously scored a major Netflix hit with Carry-On. Set in Washington, D.C., the story follows a young and ambitious woman who is seduced by an elite power couple, only to find herself trapped in a dangerous web of sex, power, and murder.
The cast also includes James Marsden and Chloe East. The screenplay is written by Michael Mohan and Marc Guggenheim, with final revisions by Carly Wray.
Kerry Washington will also serve as an executive producers on An Innocent Girl. Additional producers include Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.
The film marks Washington’s return to Washington, D.C.–set political storytelling following her breakout success in Scandal.
Production is expected to begin soon and no release date has yet been announced.
