Brendan Foley to Adapt Espionage Thriller ‘Operation: Arctic Fox’

Tampere-based ICS Nordic has signed Brendan Foley to adapt Finnish author Helena Immonen’s novel Operation: Arctic Fox for television.

The project is being developed as a geopolitical thriller and action crime drama. Published in 2023, Operation: Arctic Fox is the third novel in Immonen’s series and is set against the backdrop of Russia and China’s growing influence in the Arctic, exploring themes of military conflict, biological warfare and global espionage.

ICS Nordic optioned the rights to the novel in 2023 as part of its development agreement with Finnish publishing group WSOY.

Immonen will serve as an executive producer on the series, alongside Foley and ICS Nordic founders Ilkka Hynninen and Ilkka Rahkonen.

Foley’s previous credits include Sherlock & Daughter, Cold Courage, and The Man Who Died.

The series is being positioned as a Finland-led project with strong international appeal.
